C & T Publishing will publish it and it’s going to be about YOU! Ok, well, maybe not you specifically, but about all of us: the online modern quilting community.
It’s not going to be your usual book of quilt patterns and projects, but instead a “how to” book that will also be about all of the virtual quilting bees and the amazing sense of community that we have found online. Quilting bees have always given women a chance to get together and quilt, but now in the age of the Internet we have virtual quilting bees that have revitalized quilting and community among modern quilters.
We're so excited that every member of Block Party has agreed to be a contributor to the book. There are so many talented women involved and we're so honored to include ourselves among them.
And the most exciting part is that we’re going to be including all of YOU in the book too! We are going to be switching this blog over to a quarterly quilt along and we hope that lots of you will participate. We are including photos of some of the blocks you all make during the quilt alongs in the book, so please do join in. Your block might end up in the book!!
There will be more details coming along very soon so please keep an eye out for it and get ready to quilt along!
And lastly, thank you! All of you are so kind and generous and have made us feel like we're a part of something exciting. We are so happy to have that wonderful community and energy transfer over into a book that represents all of us and the fun modern quilts that we have been creating.

Oh, Kristen and Alissa, that is so exciting! Count me in on the quilt along and any contributions you need for help with the book! I am following your lead and hosting my own Bee starting in 2010 (with some VERY exciting bloggers, I might add...) Love following the Block Party blog...
Way to go, gals...I agree this online community is mind-blowing!
Congratulations! I am a newbie. I just found your blog and I am excited about this new book. Also love the quilt on the back of the couch. Sounds like a lot of fun. I love the online community, there is so much to learn and lots of talented people here.

What a great idea for a book!!! Being new to Blogland, I can say there is a definite need and interest for this type of book. Congratulations to all of you!!! I will be checking back in to learn more about the quilt a long.
Congratulations on your book - in-progress. Exciting! Count me in quilt-along, too. I've been anxious to participate in one. I'll keep tabs.

Oh exciting!
That is so exciting! Congratulations. Can't wait to hear more about the book & quilt along.
I run the Flickr group "Quilting Bee Blocks" and I am continually amazed at the amazing blocks & quilts that are being made by the online quilting community! And there are over 50 virtual bees listed in our group right now - that is AMAZING to me! That's hundreds of people!
Congratulations. I have been participating in a virtual quilting bee, A Notion or Two, and have loved every minute of it. I am so glad I did it. Cant wait to see the finished book.
Oh, congratulations!!!
I want in on the block party!!

Such exciting news for you all!!! I can't wait to buy mine! :)
XO, Heather
Jumping up and down with JOY....Yippee to you all. I hope I can join in....Congrats again.
If you need additional quilters, I'd love to join the group. I have been quilting forever, and just LOVE this style quilt.
cheers,
Margaret
I SOOO want in! I've read about a few of these before, but I always come across them too late. I'm definitely not a pro, but I finished one quilt following Elizabeth's (from Oh, Fransson!) directions, so I think I'm up for the challenge. I just love the idea of swapping blocks and having a quilt made up of a bunch of them from other people. Can't wait!

This so cool - congratulations Kristen and Alissa! I've been wanting to join you guys in a virtual quilting bee for awhile, but have felt that my skills may not be up to par with everyone else's. Maybe I can muster up the courage to join in the near future.

what an excellent idea! congrats to you ladies. i am continually amazed that i can sit in my home and not only learn how to quilt from start to finish, but gather supplies, inspiration and most of all support from strangers. i didn't know a thing about quilting one year ago but because of this community i am quilting to my hearts content. that's another thing. to MY hearts content. no judges...no points deducted...just praise from women who do the same thing for most of the same reasons. i can't wait until the quilt alongs.
congragulations again! i can't wait for the book!
This is such a great idea. I have been visiting this blog for months now, and have really enjoyed watching all of your different ideas come together for each person's quilt. A book is just the icing on the cake.
